DO THE RIGHT THING: A community initiative

The City of Clayton, Diablo View Middle School, Mt. Diablo Elementary School, and now Clayton Valley High School, are promoting the character awareness and development program, Do The Right Thing.

As members of one of the most visible programs at Clayton Valley High School, all band and orchestra students are expected to "do the right thing" each day as leaders of the school community.  Set the example.  Work toward community improvement, including the school community, the city, the county, state, nation, and the ever-more-accessible global community.  Sharpen our awareness of our partners in school - how are we interdependently working with our peers to create and sustain a supportive, nurturing, academic setting?

All band and orchestra students should lead for positive change because you can, and because you have transcending skills unlike most of the school.  You should lead for positive change because it the right thing to do.

Students who want to become officially-recognized leaders (drum major, section leader, band council rep) should always demonstrate this.

It's not always easy.  Sometimes you will feel like you're all alone in the change.

But, We are Eagles.  We care.  We act.  And, it shows!

Let's all Do The Right Thing!
